Season 3
Canada’s Worst Driver
Broadcast Partner: Discovery Canada
Format: 8 x 1 hour episodes (41 in total)
Proper’s debut commission, the first season of Canada’s Worst Driver scored the highest ratings for a Canadian-made series ever broadcast on Discovery Canada and was nominated for a Gemini Award as Best General/Human Interest Series. Improving every year, seasons two and three followed up as ratings-busters for the channel and the series now beats out all overseas acquisitions as well.
The premise? We take eight of Canada’s worst drivers off the road and isolate them in our Driver Rehabilitation Centre. In each episode, our drivers complete challenges designed to test and improve their core driving skills. And they don’t do it alone – wife, friend, mother-in-law, co-worker; whoever it was that nominated the worst driver - comes along for the ride. Our crack team of experts monitors each driver’s performance and, at the end of each episode, the driver who shows the most improvement graduates and is given back the keys to their vehicle. After eight relentless one-hour installments, we are finally left with only one driver who is ceremoniously given the dubious title of “Canada’s Worst Driver”.
